Nuestra querida Pipa nos ha dejado, recordamos el primer día con nosotros.  Nos pidieron ayuda para sacarlas de una perrera de la isla, para que pudiesen tener más posibilidades de ser adoptadas a ella y a su madre Linda.  Linda, estaba mayorcita y tenía un cáncer bastante avanzado le daban pocos meses de vida y una de las voluntarias de la protectora se la llevó a su casa donde pasó los últimos meses de su vida rodeada de mucho amor, jugando como una cachorra con juguetes por primera vez, con una camita calentita y muy feliz en su hogar.  Pipa fue adoptada también por otra voluntaria de nuestra protectora, nuestra querida Petra.  Pipa se adaptó rápidamente a su nuevo hogar, el cual compartía con su nuevo hermano de 4 patas, Totti.  Ambos se hacían compañía y les encantaba jugar y dar largos paseos con su mami.  Fue la alegría de su mami, pipa era una podenquita muy cariñosa, alegre y noble.  Sabemos que, para Petra, esta pérdida ha sido terrible porque son sus hijos y es muy difícil decirles adiós y seguir adelante con nuestro dolor.  Desde aquí le mandamos mucha fuerza, mucho cariño, y mucho ánimo para que tanto Petra como nuestro noble Totti puedan seguir adelante.  ¡Un abrazo de parte de todo el voluntariado querida Petra!

Our beloved Pipa has left us. We remember her first day with us. We were asked to help rescue her and her mother Linda from the municipal kennel on the island so they’d have a better chance at adoption. Linda, already elderly and with advanced cancer, was given only a few months to live. One of our shelter volunteers took her home, where she spent her last months surrounded by love, playing like a puppy with toys for the first time, sleeping in a warm bed, and being very happy.
Pipa was also adopted by another volunteer, our dear Petra. She adapted quickly to her new home, which she shared with her new four-legged brother, Totti. They kept each other company and loved playing and going for long walks with their mom. Pipa was the joy of her mom’s life—affectionate, cheerful, and noble. We know this loss has been devastating for Petra because for her, they are her children, and it’s incredibly hard to say goodbye and keep going through the pain. We send her lots of strength, love, and encouragement so that both Petra and sweet Totti can carry on. A big hug from all the volunteers, dear Petra!
